TOWN BOARD APPROVES UNION DENTAL AND VISION PLANS SCHEDULES TRICK OR TREATING SCHEDULES TRICK OR TREATING – November 2020

Town of Andes Council Meeting, October

Present: Supervisor Wayland “Bud: Gladstone, Councilmen Shayne Moshier, Ritchie Gabriel, Thomas Hall, Dale Cole. John Boulton, Highways Report, Rachel Andrews, Pool Report. Town Clerk Kimberly Tosi. Gina Tralongo; Tim Moretti, and Jeff Switts- CSEA EFB Representatives.

Meeting ran from 7:02-8:18 pm when Council adjourned to go into Executive session for personnel matters till 8:52 pm.

During “Privilege of the floor” EFB Health representatives Gina Tralongo and Jeff Switts presented detailed background on the new Vision and Dental Benefits provided to town highway union employees on the union contract. “Guests”or non-union employees and all former employees of the town are eligible to purchase either the Vision or Dental plan or both plans. Town Clerk Tosi will administer all the plans.

Supervisior’s Report: On Election Day a person may be needed to hand out masks and provide hand sanitizer. Suzanne Gladstone is a potential volunteer. Tom Joyce will coordinate at the Courthouse. Joe Sicinski, Andes Food Bank, thanked the Town for the Freezer purchase at the Railroad Station and for all donations made during this difficult period.

Currently, three buildings are in construction improvements via Main Street grant Funds that the MARK Project facilitated.

Highway Report: Men have been ditching roads, touching up roads and mowing along the sides of roads while the equipment has been getting prepped for winter.

Andes Pool: Rachel Andrews, Pool Director, reported she is working on resolving the issue of the fence surrounding the pool which is not up to current code and will potentially need to be completely replaced. She has requested quotes from several companies but has received none to date.

Trick or Treating will be October 31st from 5-8 pm.

Artie Short submitted his Code enforcer’s report. The Town also approved Snow Plowing and Winter Oil and Fuel Purchases based on the bids received. Town approved all warrants and bills.

Next meeting will be November 5th, at 6 pm, Public Hearing on the 2021 Budgets to precede it at 5:45 pm, both on Zoom. ~
