This year, we are working with the theme “All Aboard the ACS Express to Success.” Each teacher will have a group consisting of elementary, middle school and high school students who will grow together as a team throughout the year. Each month, a new theme car will be added to the train. Teamwork, Good Habits, and Community are just some of the themes we look forward to exploring. Friday, September 9th was spent bonding our teams. Team building activities happened at the school and then the whole school went to Arkville to ride the Delaware and Ulster Railroad to Roxbury and back. A scavenger hunt and lunch were enjoyed while on board! It was a great way to start the year!picture8

On Thursday, October 6th, we are hosting our eighth annual “Evening of Excellence” to honor students who maintained an average of 90%+ during the entire 2015-16 school year. Also, be aware that school will be closed on October 10th to celebrate Columbus Day.

On Thursday, October 27th ACS will have its Fall Open House beginning at 6:30. Andes will be completing its practice of the Emergency Evacuation Drill (leave 15-minutes early) on Friday, October 21st.

The week of October 23th – 29th has been designated as New York State School Board Recognition Week.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank those community members who are currently serving on our Board of Education, as well as those who have served in the past.  Thank you for the time and dedication you give to the children of Andes.

Our Drama Club is planning to present its fall show of Mary Poppins on November 4th & 5th.   Rehearsals have started and will continue through the coming weeks.

We are looking forward to another successful school year at Andes Central School and hope to see you at many of the events hosted at ACS this year.~
