I enjoyed reading Karen and Michael Miller’s story about the black bear swimming across the reservoir. Once when kayaking on the Cannonsville Reservoir, a friend and I had a similar experience – seeing something black and unidentifiable moving fast in the water. We paddled as fast as we could to catch up to it and as we got closer we saw it was a bear. They do swim fast and we were not able to catch up to it before it got out of the water, shook off and headed into the woods. It was a thrilling experience.
