LIBRARY NOTES – July 2010

On Sunday, June 13th, we held the annual Open House to show appreciation to our many patrons and contributors, without whom the library could not exist. It was a lovely afternoon as dozens of folks wandered in and out, partaking of a delicious array of sweet and savory snacks, meeting old friends and making new ones, and browsing through the ever-expanding collection of books and DVDs. Colorful tablecloths and vases of fresh flowers straight from local gardens  dressed up the already cheerful rooms for the festive event.

There has been quite an increase in computer and internet usage lately. In addition to the three public-access computers located on the second floor, WI-FI access is available for those with their own laptops or other compatible devices. Come inside to sit at a table or relax out on the porch while you check your email and browse the worldwide web. For our patrons who want to use a computer but prefer not to climb the stairs, we will soon have another public-access system available on the first floor.

Books, movies, music, magazines, computers … so much is available for you here at the Andes Public Library. Stop in to see us when you get a chance!~
