The Andes club was well represented at the Senior Council’s Annual Pork Barbeque and Pie Auction with 14 attending. Our club contributed 4 pies bringing in a total of $144. Bidding was brisk on all pies. A Mixed Berry Pie had the highest bid of $50 with Dot Andrews’ Lemon Meringue Pie getting the second highest of $47.50. Proceeds from this fund raiser are used for senior programs.
Our club has scheduled a trip on Thursday, July 12, 2007 to Wellington’s Herb Farm on Rickard Hill Road in Scoharie. This event will take the place of both the annual picnic and the July 19th meeting. We will meet at the Andes Methodist Church at 8:00 am to carpool, arriving at the herb farm at approximately 10:00 am for a guided tour and a luncheon served afterwards. There will be time after lunch to browse in a quaint country store (offering herbs, spices, fragrances, antiques, and collectables), a visit to the tool shed, fishing, or just relaxing by the pond until mid-afternoon. Around 4:00 pm we’ll leave for the return trip to Andes. ~
