What’s Happening in Andes – June 2007

Saturday, June 2nd – Come enjoy some classic rock, country, funk … a little bit of everything as “Detour” returns to the Andes Hotel. Show starts at 9 pm. No cover charge.

Sunday, June 3rd – Meeting of those interested in helping with Andes Community Day will be held at 5 pm at the Andes Hotel.

Saturday, June 9th – Don’t miss MAGIC & MIND at the Andes Hotel as Brian Foley entertains the crowd with adult magic & comedy. Show begins at 7:30 pm. $10 cover.

Tuesday, June 12th – The long-awaited season opening of the ASHC Thrift Shop at the Old Fire Hall is scheduled for today. Doors open from 10 am until 4 pm.  The shop will be open Monday – Saturday throughout the spring and summer. Closed on Sundays. Be sure to stop in and see what treasures have accumulated over the winter.

Saturday, June 30th – An Artist’s  Reception will be held at the Chace-Randall Gallery, 49 Main Street, Andes from 5 – 7 pm. The new show, which opens on June 29th and runs through August 12th, presents recent works by Grant Collier and Marie Vickerilla. Gallery hours are 11 am – 5 pm Thursday – Sunday, and holiday Mondays.

Friday, June 22nd – Come cheer the Andes Central School Class of 2007 as they leave their high school years behind and head on to new challenges. Graduation begins at 7 pm at ACS.

Through June 24th Blink is open again for the season and is presenting the work of Sheryl Sinkow, in a show entitled “ART/SOUL/AFRICA – A Photographer’s Journey.”

Saturday, June 30th – “Silent Villages of the Lost Valley” is presented by the ASHC at Andes Central School. See box on page  5 for more information.
