LIBRARY NOTES – May 2007

If the saying “April showers bring May flowers” is true, then the Andes Library is really blooming with new books, magazines, and DVDs. We are especially happy to announce our newest patron, a baby boy, born on April 3rd, to our Assistant Director Laurie and her husband Ira. While Laurie is out on maternity leave, we are very fortunate to have Roshan Houshmand taking her place at the Librarian’s desk. So if you’re in the Library on a Monday or Tuesday give a welcome to Roshan and take a look at the photos of Laurie’s little baby and his big sister Ava Rose!

In the world of books, our new additions include these best sellers; Alibi Man by Tami Hoag, Whitethorn Woods by Maeve Binchy, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, which just won the Pulitzer Prize, and The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama. Our DVD collection is growing by leaps and bounds. The latest discs in our collection are: The Departed, Flags of our Fathers, Babel, and The Producers. As always, the magazines in our library are available to be checked out for two weeks. Patrons have kindly enlarged our magazine collection with copies of Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and Martha Stewart Living.

All of us at the Andes Public Library invite you to come to the library, use the computers, send or receive a fax, borrow a book, or browse our shelves. Please let us know how we can help you. See you at the Andes Library! ~
